Five young artists and the beauty of discarded textiles in the Cpunt gallery.

The textile industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world. Not only is it responsible for almost 10% of global CO2 emissions, but it is also notorious for the enormous amount of resources (including chemicals, water and oil) it wastes. Of the 100 billion garments produced each year, 92 million m2 ends up in landfill. This means that a garbage truck full of clothes is thrown away every second.

Teddy Kamper curated this exhibition in the Cpunt gallery with works by various young artists. They rescue material from landfills, look for new possibilities and view the design process with a critical eye. Through this method they give us a new look at old, discarded textiles.
