Local Charissa about Haarlemmermeer: “Village, cozy and full of hidden gems”

Introduce
Charissa (25) grew up in Overbos, but moved to Floriande when she was two. "I still live here with my parents and 19-year-old brother." In her daily life she works as a self-employed content creator. But in her spare time she can be found in the Haarlemmermeerse Bos, at the weekly market in Floriande or at Lola's in Abbenes!
Peace and bustle
What does Charissa like most about living in Hoofddorp? "It's quiet, but there's plenty to do. Everything you need is there. Despite the fact that it continues to grow and expand, it still feels like a cozy village. That makes it special." Charissa has plenty of tips for a fun day out. "I would definitely take a walk in the Haarlemmermeer forest or around the Toolenburger Plas, you have to see those places. Then enjoy a nice walk to the shopping center from Hoofddorp for nice shops and cozy restaurants. On Friday the market in the center and on Saturday the market in Floriande, that's always really nice. I always take a walk there to see what's there."

Hidden gem
Charissa also reveals her hidden gem in Haarlemmermeer: "Restaurant Lola's in AbbenesA friend of mine runs it. In the summer you can sit here on the jetty by the water, while enjoying the boats passing by. Really a perfect place to relax." Another favorite of Charissa's is the Pancake Pavilion in the Green Wealth"I worked here for over five years and I still enjoy coming here. The large terrace is a real treat, especially when the weather is nice."
A beautiful memory
Mystery Land has a special place in her heart."I've been going there almost every year since I was eighteen. Even though it is such a big festival, it feels small because you meet so many familiar faces. It's like your entire high school is coming together again!”
