Michael, what is your link with Haarlemmermeer?

I live in Nieuw-Vennep myself and started here 4 years ago, in 2017 Climbing Park21. I have submitted a plan for this to the municipality of Haarlemmermeer. The new PARK21 was just in its infancy at the time, so that worked out nicely.

The municipality was looking for entrepreneurs who want to do something outdoors. Part of PARK21 is specifically intended for outdoor sports and recreation. After I submitted the plan for Klimpark21, it immediately gained momentum and was quickly realized.

What can you do in Klimpark21?

You can climb here at different heights. The climbing routes differ between 1, 4, 7 and 10 meters high. In addition, we have two zipline courses, of 110 and 130 meters. You can also play the archery tag game and we have added bubble football since this year.

Everyone is welcome, from 4 to 84 years old. Klimpark21 attracts people of all ages. Many children's parties from the age of 8 are also organized here. People like this very much, because it is something different from a standard children's party.

Schools also visit us. For example during introduction days of secondary education, just after the summer holidays. School classes or companies often come to us for team building outings.

Klimpark 21 is the only outdoor place in Haarlemmermeer where you can experience really challenging activities.

I heard that Klimpark21 also organizes holiday camps for children, can you tell us more about that?

We started day camps last year. This means that there are no overnight stays. It actually originated from the idea of our employees who also participate in camps in France or Spain through large organizations. We now wanted to organize something like this in the Netherlands. But abroad that is more common than here in the Netherlands. That is why we now do the shortened version in the form of day camps.

The camps are from 1 to 4 days. During these days there are many activities such as climbing, skateboarding, abseiling, you name it. With good weather we go paddle boarding at the Toolenburgerplas. Actually, everything there is to do in the park passes by, but for a whole day.

What makes your company unique in Haarlemmermeer?

Klimpark 21 is the only outdoor place in Haarlemmermeer where you can experience really challenging activities. You won't find climbing at height like you can with us anywhere else.

I am proud that the municipality wants to create a nature park with PARK21. More greenery and more nature is desperately needed.
