Brand new map with outdoor art and monuments

Even though Haarlemmermeer is a young municipality, our municipality has many monuments. In addition, the municipality is packed with the most beautiful and special outdoor works of art. The monuments and outdoor artworks can now be found on an interactive map. Curious about this map and what information you will find on it? Then read on!

The map shows all the monuments and outdoor works of art that you will find in our municipality. There are no fewer than 183 monuments and 187 outdoor works of art. The monuments are divided into three categories: municipal, provincial and national monuments. For each monument you will find a description and, where available, a photo. If known, the works of art also contain a detailed description of who the artist is, what the work of art is intended to represent and what materials the works of art are made of.

Councilor Marja Ruigrok (Culture): “Everyone who knows me a little knows that I have been taking photos of outdoor art in Haarlemmermeer for five years (#WednesdayArtDay). I am proud of our enormous amount of works of art and monuments in our municipality and I want as many people as possible to enjoy them. And because they are in the open air, that is also possible. And do you see outdoor art that you cannot yet find on our interactive map? Let us know. This way we make the map even more complete!''

You will find the brand new map here. The information is also described on the Visit Haarlemmermeer website. Some of the most beautiful outdoor artworks and monuments are highlighted here. And you will even find cycling and walking routes along some of these special points. View on visithaarlemmermeer.nl for both pages and the cycling and walking routes.

This new map replaces the Cultural Atlas that had already been taken offline. The information on the Cultural Atlas was no longer up to date and the website did not meet the mandatory accessibility requirements. With the arrival of this map there is once again a nice overview of this piece of culture in Haarlemmermeer.
