Discover PARK21 by bike!
Polder landscapes
The route starts at Landgoed de Kleine Vennep. The beautiful estate is a national monument, namely the historic farm from 1928. Agricultural activities are still carried out on the estate, but the piece of land is much more than just a farm today. Every year De Grazende Zwaan takes place on the estate and there is room for sports and other activities.
Groot Vennep, the sub-area of PARK21, is located right next to Kleine Vennep. In recent years, almost 500 trees have been planted there with more than one hectare of shrubs and a beautiful flower border. It is currently still a walking area, but will be further developed in the coming years. A little further on the route you will pass a bee palace and an organic vegetable garden. These locations give nature a helping hand and are great fun to cycle past!
1 Van Wees dairy farm
If you cycle a bit further, you will pass dairy farm of Kees and Ellie Van Wees. This farm has been open to the public for years. You can experience real farm life there. Pet the newborn calves, watch the cow dancing once a year and buy delicious farmhouse cheese or other regional products in the shop.
2 Parklands
You will find it a bit further north on the route Parklands. This is a large area where city and countryside meet. In addition to the agricultural activities that the farmers carry out, they also organize fun activities for the public. Everyone is welcome at 'Cows dancing in the meadow', the 'Potato Harvest Day', the 'Farmers Easter Festival' and the annual maze!
3 Activities
While cycling you will discover on this route which activities you can do in Park21. Sports enthusiasts can climb and scramble in Climbing Park21, playing rugby at Rugby Club Haarlemmermeer Hawks, playing baseball at the Baseball Club de Pioniers and motorcrossing at Electric Motocross Park. In addition, there are plenty of playgrounds for children, for example the Nature playground or playground Kleiland.
4 Polder figures
During this bike ride you will encounter various polder figures. These are historical persons who have contributed to the development of the Haarlemmermeerpolder. The art objects are by Richard van Os and are located along the main roads that cross the park from north to south (IJweg, Hoofdweg and Rijnlanderweg).
Leendert van der Meulenbrug
The route ends at the Leendert van der Meulenbrug. This slow traffic bridge marks the end of PARK21 on the west side.
