De Hoek: hamlet near Hoofddorp with a popular business park

De Hoek is located close to the southeast of Hoofddorp. This small hamlet in the municipality of Haarlemmermeer used to have more inhabitants, but in 2017 there were only 15. Also located here is the important traffic junction of the same name "De Hoek", which was formed in 2003 by the connection of the A5 to the A4 from The Hague to Amsterdam. The most commonly found butterfly species is the beautiful common blue. In addition, four other species were seen: the small cabbage white, the atalanta, peacock eye and the thistle butterfly. Especially in the summer with good weather you can easily spot the butterfly in the bushes of Butterfly Garden De Hoek.
