Zwaanshoek: one of the greenest centers of Haarlemmermeer

Right next to Hoofddorp you will find Zwaanshoek, a quiet and green village on the Ringvaart. A bridge connects Zwaanshoek with Bennebroek. Zwaanshoek has about 2040 inhabitants (2021) and owes its name to the wild swans that used to settle in the village. Thanks to the lush nature, this beautiful village can count itself as one of the greenest centers of Haarlemmermeer.

Iconic swan from Zwaanshoek  

In the municipality of Haarlemmermeer, every place of residence has its own iconic building by which you can recognize the place. You can recognize Zwaanshoek by the swan. The name Zwaanshoek came about shortly after the reclamation, when many whooper swans settled in this area. Before that, Zwaanshoek was still part of the Bennebroekerbuurt.
