Zwanenburg: cozy village on the Ringvaart

Between Haarlem and Amsterdam you will find the village of Zwanenburg. Zwanenburg was originally a twin village, together with Halfweg. These two villages are separated by the Ringvaart and are connected by two bridges. In 1913, Zwanenburg was named after the house of the same name in Halfweg, which was then used as the communal house of Rijnland. Later, the famous CSM sugar factory was built here. About 7935 people live in Zwanenburg (2021) and there is plenty to do here. Read on quickly and be inspired to visit this nice village!

In the municipality of Haarlemmermeer, every place of residence has its own iconic building by which you can recognize the place. You can recognize Zwanenburg by the village hall. At the end of 2013, more than 1000 residents of Zwanenburg and Halfweg had their say in choosing an architect for the new village hall. The Dorpshuis Zwanenburg - Halfweg is the perfect place where residents of Zwanenburg and Halfweg meet. Various activities are carried out here and there is a sports hall and a library. Recreation in Zwanenburg 

Zwanenburg is an ideal place for walkers and cyclists. You can go for a lovely walk in the green Park Zwanenburg and the nearby Wandelpark Zwanenburg. There are also various cycle paths through the green surroundings. For longer cycling and walking tours, you only have to cross the Ringvaart to reach Houtrak Spaarnwoude, with endless nature to discover.
