Lisserbroek: cozy village with marinas and fruit orchards

Between Lisse and Nieuw-Vennep you will find the village of Lisserbroek. This village has about 3435 inhabitants (2021) and is named after "het broeck van Lisse", which is an old Dutch name for "the swamp of Lisse". Lisserbroek lies at the edge of the Haarlemmermeer, in an area that has never been totally submerged. This created a swampy area where the current village was founded after the reclamation. You can find a statue of a peat worker and the old small former worker houses along the Ringvaart, as a reminder of this unique history.

In Haarlemmermeer, each town is characterized by an iconic building. You can recognize Lisserbroek by an apple. This symbolizes the fruit of Landgoed de Olmenhorst. Using organic principles, this orchard grows the tastiest apples and pears.

The romantic estate consists of no less than 30 hectares of apple and pear orchards. Additionally, you will find cheese factories, goat farms, and shops where kids and adults can participate in cooking workshops.
