Park De Veldpost in Badhoevedorp: for people and animals

Badhoevedorp has a new recreational area: Park De Veldpost. The park is part of a green connection of nature reserves between Amstelland and Spaarnwoude: the Green AS. Take a look at this hilly park of approximately 20.000 m2. Here you can stroll through the greenery, sit on a bench in the sun, have a picnic, play, run a lap or have fun on the sports equipment. And hopefully a lot of insects, birds, bats and amphibians will also find their way to this park.

View

The rolling hills of about 4 to 5 meters high in the park are striking. They make the area a little more exciting. They break through the rectilinear, vast landscape of the polder. On top of the hills you have a beautiful view of the surroundings and Schiphol.

For nature lovers

Many trees have been planted in the park, giving it a forest-like character. On the hills you will mainly find shrubs. A variety of different types of native trees, including evergreens, that do well in our climate. A large insect hotel and the meadow flowers attract insects, which in turn serve as food for the birds. You will also find a kingfisher wall, breeding grounds for grass snakes and bat boxes.
