PARK21 in Hoofddorp: the new park of Haarlemmermeer
Thanks to the development of the Haarlemmermeer, the number of inhabitants of the municipality is growing rapidly. This also means that extra space is needed where residents can spend their free time. PARK21 in Hoofddorp offers the perfect solution for this. PARK21 is a recreation park for everyone, with space for sports and relaxation, agriculture, innovation, education and an enormous amount of greenery. The brand new park is located between Hoofddorp and Nieuw-Vennep and covers a total of 1000 hectares.
Leisure park for sports enthusiasts
There is plenty to do for sports enthusiasts in PARK21. In the first sub-area you will find the sports park of the Hoofddorp Pioniers baseball and softball club. There are several walking routes, cycling routes and riding trails that wind through the green park. These paths take you to various parts of the park, such as the bee palace, the organic vegetable garden and the Kleiland playground for the kids.
PARK21 is being developed together with residents, companies, farmers, investors and schools. In this way, the residents of Hoofddorp can come up with plans themselves and it really becomes a park for and by everyone.
Climbing at Klimpark21
A little further on is Klimpark21. At this special place in PARK21, on the border with Hoofddorp and Nieuw-Vennep, you will find a sustainable and modern outdoor park. Here, novice and advanced climbers can participate in exciting climbing routes under the professional guidance of climbing instructors. There are four different routes for climbing, scrambling and ziplining, with varying heights and challenges. What makes this climbing park extra special is that it is entirely made of sustainable material.
In PARK21 you will also find the Electric Motocross Park where you can ride a wild course on the motorcycle. Not that adventurous? At the Parklanden farmers a little further you can enjoy a farmers Easter party or participate in the cow dancing. In this beautiful place you can also walk extensively between the crops. In the autumn, visitors can even dig up their own potatoes and bake fries.

The plans for PARK21
You may now be wondering when PARK21 will be ready. Good news: the first part of PARK21 has already been completed and is in full use. Here you will find, for example, Klimpark21, the Pioniers sports complex and Kleiland playground. The developers have drawn up a master plan for the entire park. This plan for PARK21 contains all the goals and main elements of the park.
The park heart will be located in the western part: a recreational lake with catering facilities. There will be space for an event site in the eastern part. On the website of PARK21 you can view all the details of the plan and its progress. But even as long as PARK21 is still under development, there is already plenty to experience and this special place is definitely worth a visit!
