Awakenings – The largest techno festival in the world

Awakenings is a household name among electronic music enthusiasts. Awakenings has been organizing techno events for over 22 years. The event started in 1997 in the famous Gashouder near Amsterdam Westerpark. Since then, the festival has attracted more than 190.000 visitors per year. What can you experience during Awakenings?

Awakenings Festival is not only the largest outdoor techno festival in the Netherlands, but even in the whole world! The Awakenings Festival is therefore the pinnacle of the European techno music scene. More than 100 techno DJs play their best tracks for an enthusiastic dancing audience that goes crazy. Think of well-known names such as Bart Skills, Luke Slater, Joris Voorn and Adam Beyer - they all pass by during Awakenings!

Fun fact: the name of the popular festival has to do with the resurrection of Jesus. The first feast was held around Easter. Rocco Veenboer, the organizer of Awakenings, realized that he actually didn't know what Easter entailed. When he found out that Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus, he came up with the appropriate name Awakenings.

Where and when?

The Awakenings Spring Festival 2024 will take place on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 May, in the Spaarnwoude Park recreation area. Do you also like techno music? Then you just have to experience this big party once!
