Theehuis Cruquius: cozy family business at the steam pumping station

Please note: Theehuis Cruquius is temporarily closed from now until the end of 2024. This is due to a renovation at Museum de Cruquius and the tea house.

The cozy Theehuis Cruquius is located right next to the monumental steam pumping station and on the Ringvaart. The Theehuis is located in a unique spot on the water. It's a real family business! Rick, José and their daughter Lisa Lagerweij have been running the Theehuis with pleasure for more than 35 years. It is the perfect place for breakfast, high tea, lunch or a cup of coffee after a museum visit.

Lunch restaurant Cruquius

At Theehuis Cruquius you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or high tea seven days a week. The breakfast menu has enough variety and dishes. For example, think of croissants, coconut yogurt, pancakes, a classic bouncer or avocado on toast. You can go for breakfast between 9.30:11.30 and 12:XNUMX am. For lunch they have an even wider range. Extra fun (and tasty) is the 'XNUMX o'clock' that changes every week. In addition to the sandwiches, they also have stewed fries or a smashed burger. Enough choice for everyone!

High tea Hoofddorp

People from miles around come to Cruquius for high tea. Everything is prepared with fresh products from Tummers Heemstede. Your entire table will be covered with scones, sandwiches and of course lots of pastries. The high tea must be reserved at least 2 days in advance and is for a minimum of 2 people. Would you like to surprise your mother, girlfriend or grandmother? You're in the right place here!

Everything is taken care of down to the last detail, so you don't have to think about anything. You don't have any mess in your house and you have an unforgettable (afternoon) day at a unique place on the water.

Visit Cruquius Museum

The Theehuis Cruquius is already special because it is a family business, it serves delicious dishes and it is located on the water of the Ringvaart. An extra dimension is that the Tea House is adjacent the Cruquius museum. In this museum you will be amazed at the power of the 19th century steam technology and the battle against water. Educational and interesting to visit! See with your own eyes the workings of the old pumping station and then have a nice bite to eat at Theehuis Cruquius.
