Elisabeth Hoeve: farm shop and self-harvest garden in Nieuw-Vennep
Farm shop and self-harvest garden
You will also find a shop at the Elizabeth-Hoeve. The store is stocked with eggs, potatoes and onions. All fresh from the farmer. You will not find the products fresher than this. You can always walk into the store. From May to September you can also get started in the self-harvest garden. For this you become a member for a fixed amount per year. You can then come and harvest your vegetables and potatoes every week. Your groceries are therefore fresh from the land and harvested yourself.
Program for schools
Not all children know that chips don't grow on bushes or trees. With a fun excursion on the farm, Anneke tells everything about the process from potato to chips. The children see with their own eyes what is involved in growing and most of them come to a farm for the first time in their lives. The excursions are on weekdays Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and take place in collaboration with Stichting Educatief Platteland.
LakeFarmer's hiking trail "The Elisabeth Route"
The 4,3-kilometre MeerBoerenwandelpad takes you past fields where various crops are grown, such as potatoes, beets, grains and onions. During the walk you can use the bridge to Landgoed De Olmenhorst(#). You walk straight through the fields and on narrow grass paths. Feast your eyes on flowering herbs and wild flowers. Along the way you will come across signs with information about the cultivation and the environment. Of course you can see the farmer at work with your own eyes.
Gebroeders Ham: a unique company
With a caravan and boat shed, care farm and Elizabeth Hoeve, the Gebroeders Ham have a very unique company. But there's more. Every year they sow the fields with a logo for well-known brands. They have already done this for Unox, Aviko and NH Hotels. The advertising message can be seen from the air when you are on the plane.
