Ferries of Haarlemmermeer

There is a lot of water in the beautiful polder landscape of Haarlemmermeer. In the landscape you will find important canals such as the Hoofdvaart and Ringvaart, but also lakes, smaller rivers and ponds. To provide residents with good accessibility in this water-rich environment, there are small ferries that help pedestrians and cyclists to cross the water. Ferry Rijsenhout

A pedestrian and bicycle ferry has been sailing on the Ringvaart between Rijsenhout and Aalsmeer for decades. This ferry connects Aalsmeer with Rijsenhout from the end of the Uiterweg. The ferry was restored in 2018 and now also has a disabled ramp for extra accessibility.  
 

The ferry Rijsenhout sails all year round, every working day from Monday to Friday from 7.00:17.45 to 1:31. From April 10.00 to October 1,20, the ferry also sails on weekends. On weekends, the ferry service starts a little later, at XNUMX:XNUMX AM. A crossing for cyclists and pedestrians costs € XNUMX per trip.

Ferry Kaag

The southern village of Buitenkaag owes its development to the establishment of one of the three large Haarlemmermeer pumping stations - the monumental Gemaal de Leeghwater on the Lisserdijk. Ferry Kaag is the only continuous connection between Kaag and the world beyond.  
 

A maximum of 12 people can be transported on the bicycle ferry at a time. Please note that the waiting time can increase in good weather! Passengers pay €2 per person per crossing from Kaag and €3 per person from Oud Ade, including the Kaag-Buitenkaag crossing.

Ferry Cruquius-Haarlem

The ferry between Cruquius and Haarlem is also called the Green Stroomboot. This modern ferry sails over the Ringvaart of the Haarlemmermeerpolder. The Groene Stroomboot is a bicycle and pedestrian ferry, but is also accessible for children's cargo bikes, wheelchair riders and mobility scooters.  
 

The Groene Stroomboot owes its name to the solar panels that make the ferry sail on green electricity. The crossing is a short trip of 5 minutes between Haarlem/Schalkwijk and Cruquius and is free for everyone! The ferry runs from April 1 to October 1, every day from 10.00 a.m. to 18.00 p.m.
