This boating route takes you past 4 special waterways: the Westeinderplassen, Ringvaart, Kagerplassen, and the Braassemermeer. This way, you discover the Blue Ring of Holland in just one day. Along the way, you will enjoy nature, charming villages, and plenty of opportunities to stop for a bite to eat and a drink.

Your adventure begins at the Westeinderplassen in Aalsmeer

This vast lake area is known for its hundreds of small islands and sheltered waterways. While enjoying the lovely weather on the boat, you sail past former 'legakkers'. These are narrow strips of land that serve as a reminder of Aalsmeer's flourishing horticultural history. The varied landscape makes this area popular with sloop boaters, canoeists, and stand-up paddleboarders. Here, it feels as if you are completely away from the hustle and bustle!

From the Westeinderplassen you sail via the Ringvaart from Haarlemmermeer further

This historic waterway winds around the polder and introduces you to the character of Haarlemmermeer. On this route, you sail a short distance along the Ringvaart, but it is a particularly beautiful water area to discover in full at another time! The view changes constantly, meaning there is always something new to discover along the way. The Ringvaart is a total of 69,6 km long and takes you past remarkable heritage of Haarlemmermeer. Discover the pumping stations and forts that together tell the water story of the reclaimed polder.

You reach it via the Ringvaart Braassemermeer

Here the landscape opens up, and you immediately experience a sense of space. The large lake is popular with sailors, windsurfers, and recreational water sports enthusiasts. On sunny days, you can see colorful sails gliding across the water. The vast horizon creates a wonderful holiday feeling. This is a perfect spot to drop anchor for a while, enjoy a picnic on board, or take a seat on a terrace. Along the Ringvaart, you will also find all kinds of nice restaurants where you can moor for a moment!

The route ends at the Kagerplassen

Sail back to the Ringvaart and set course for the Kagerplassen. Here, nature and water sports come together in a unique way. It is even one of the most famous water sports areas in the Netherlands! The pleasant atmosphere on and around the water makes this area a popular destination for a day out.
