SAIL comes to Haarlemmermeer: a unique spectacle on the water

For the first time ever, SAIL will sail along the Haarlemmermeer quay. It promises to be an unforgettable experience. On Wednesday, August 20th, and Sunday, August 24th, the tranquil waterfront of Spaarnwoude will be transformed into the scene of an impressive boat parade: the SAIL-In and SAIL-Out Parade! A fleet of impressive Tall Ships and colorful historic vessels will sail from IJmuiden via the North Sea Canal towards Amsterdam. You won't want to miss this!

SAIL 2025 to be admired for the first time in Haarlemmermeer

Thanks to the merger with the former municipality of Haarlemmerliede en Spaarnwoude in 2019, Haarlemmermeer is now officially part of the SAIL area. This means you can admire the boat parade up close in Haarlemmermeer this year as well.

Ships like you've never seen before

The SAIL-In Parade is more than just a parade. It's an impressive display of sailing ships from all corners of the world, accompanied by countless other vessels. From classic motor vessels to beautiful sloops and robust naval vessels, each ship has its own story and character. Together, they form a living tribute to maritime history. For lovers of water, ships, culture, and photography, this is a parade you won't want to miss.
